Celestial Protectors Gaiwan (4 oz)

Center your daily tea ritual with this gaiwan graced with the four mythological creatures of the Chinese constellations: the azure dragon of the East, the vermillion bird of the South, the white tiger of the West, and the black tortoise of the North. These guardian spirits are also each identified with a Chinese element (wood, fire, metal and water, respectively). The mid-size, ceramic body is comfortable to hold even in small hands, and is perfectly suited to steep any type of tea or herbal.

To fully embrace your animal side, pair with with the matching cup set.

A gaiwan is a simple lidded cup that allows ample room for tea leaves to expand as they steep, releasing their full potential of both flavor and fragrance; the flared rim and raised lid detail stay cool, so that the hot brewed tea can be comfortably decanted with the lid slightly opened to hold back the leaves. Experiment with gongfu cha style preparation to share the experience, or enhance it when savoring tea alone.
